Mattress Care

The care of your mattress is essential to your health and we want to help ensure that your mattress lasts as long as possible. Please take a look at these tips to help you get the best quality out of your mattress and protect your warranty. If your mattress set comes with care instructions, please carefully go over these to ensure what is best for your particular set.

Use a protective pad. Invest in a quality, washable mattress pad to keep your set clean and stain-free. Buying one for you foundation is also recommended.

Vacuuming is the only recommended method to clean your mattress. Dust and dander build up on your mattress so use the upholstery attachment on your vacuum to tackle the task; if someone in your family has allergies this may need to be done more frequently.

Do not dry clean. Chemicals in dry cleaning and spot remover supplies may be harmful to the fabric or materials that make up your set. If the mattress surface becomes soiled or dirty, use an upholstery shampoo, but DO NOT allow the interior padding to get wet, you must follow instructions exactly.

Give it good support. Make sure to buy a sturdy, high quality bed frame for your set. If you purchased a queen or king size set, be sure the frame has a strong center support as to prevent bowing. Never put a board between your mattress and foundation. If your bed has reached the point where you have considered this option, you need to look into buying a new mattress.

Do not remove the Law Tag. It is not illegal to remove this as the old wives’ tale says, but the information on the tag serves as identification for your set and this will be needed for any warranty claim.
It’s not a trampoline. Your mattress is not designed for jumping on; it’s made for sleeping on. By jumping on the bed you can damage the interior of the set, plus it is not safe.

Properly install. If you don’t properly install your set, it may become damaged. If you are installing the set yourself, ask the store employees for tips to avoid problems.

Rotate your mattress. Body conformity is normal in a quality mattress, especially in the first weeks. To help minimize body impressions and elongate the life of your mattress, we recommend rotating your mattress every two weeks for the first three months then every two months after that.
